DEFRA selects Bramble and Marathon IT Services to review its critical IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery provisions.
The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is the ministerial department responsible for policy and regulations on environmental, food and rural issues, supported by 35 agencies and public bodies. DEFRA and its agencies use numerous IT applications and systems with a wide range of levels of dependency and criticality. Whilst it has in place IT business continuity, it does not have formal contractual Disaster Recovery provisions for its key managed applications provided by its outsourced IT partner.
DEFRA sought a supplier via G-Cloud that could review and validate the existing business continuity and disaster recovery provisions and recommend cost-effective mitigating measures using Cloud based disaster recovery solutions.
Bramble and its partner Marathon IT Services have successfully delivered a comprehensive report highlighting the department’s current BC and DR posture and providing an independent expert view of any residual risk with recommendations for mitigation and continued alignment with ISO 22301.
